Compliance Officer - Private Banking
Corporate & Administration — Grand Duché du LuxembourgIntroduction
About the Client
Our client is a well-established private bank in Luxembourg, recognised for its financial solidity and long-standing presence in the local market. The bank offers a high-quality working environment, with attractive offices and a stable organisational structure that encourages close collaboration and long-term development.
Responsibilities
About the Role
Reporting to the CCO, you will take on a broad and hands-on Compliance role, combining operational responsibilities with team coordination and oversight. Acting as the CCO's key support, you will help ensure the smooth running of the Compliance function while providing guidance to the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the bank's activities comply with applicable Luxembourg and European regulatory requirements.
- AML/KYC: Oversee AML/CFT matters, client due diligence, KYC reviews, risk assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- MiFID II: Support compliance with MiFID requirements, including investor protection, suitability and appropriateness, conflicts of interest and product governance.
- Compliance Monitoring: Contribute to the compliance monitoring plan, conduct controls, identify potential weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
- Policies & Procedures: Maintain internal policies, procedures and the Compliance framework in line with regulatory expectations.
- Advisory & Reporting: Provide day-to-day Compliance guidance to business teams, prepare internal reports and support regulatory reporting and interactions with the relevant authorities.
- Team Coordination: Act as the CCO's main operational support, helping coordinate the Compliance team, prioritise activities and ensure effective follow-up of ongoing matters.
Profile
Candidate Profile
- Relevant university degree in Law, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Solid experience in Compliance within a Luxembourg bank or another regulated financial institution.
- Broad knowledge of Compliance, with practical exposure to MiFID II, AML/CFT, KYC, regulatory monitoring and compliance controls.
- A versatile profile able to work across different areas of Compliance, rather than a specialist focused exclusively on one regulatory topic.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and provide pragmatic advice to business stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support, guide and coordinate colleagues.
- Fluent in both French and English. French is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Job Offer
The Offer
- Salary: €80,000-€100,000 gross per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Benefits: Attractive banking benefits package.
- Environment: A stable, close-knit team within an established and financially sound private bank.
- Responsibilities: A broad Compliance role offering exposure to multiple regulatory areas and the opportunity to take on greater responsibility within the team.
- Reporting line: Direct reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer.
If you are an all-round Compliance professional looking to broaden your responsibilities, support a CCO and play a central role within a stable private banking environment, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
